The GAD7 is a valid and efficient 7-item tool for screening for GAD and assessing its severity in clinical practice and research.
The GAD7 yields one score where an individual responds to how often a behavior occurs on a 0-3 likert scale ranging from “not at all” to “nearly every day”. There is a final question not included in the score regarding the severity.
